E flat Bass: Ian Frost
Ian started playing at the age of eleven with the Solent Concert Band. Ian played in the youth finals twice, and qualified for the Championship finals in 1979, 1980 and 1981. Ian also qualified for the British Open in 1982.
Ian has spent most of his time playing Baritone or Horn, until recently trying his hand to Bass. Ian has also played trombone and cornet, but not very well. Ian finally joined his second ever band in 2008, arriving at Woodfalls Band, and joining the award winning Woodfalls Basses!
B flat Bass: Jim Slade
Jim started playing at the age of 7.
Jim’s bands include the Porchester Area Youth Band, The Southsea Band (Lucketts), Chichester City Band and Woodfalls.
Jim’s hobbies other than banding include Rock bands, Cooking and Eating! Mainly the latter!
